Intermediate / consolidation level

For students with a solid foundation seeking to expand technique and expressiveness: advanced phrasing, dynamic control, mid-difficulty repertoire, and preparation for local auditions or Grades 3–5. Work here combines greater technical demands (fast passages, articulation, tone control) with preparation of longer pieces and study of historical style. It can be oriented toward free repertoire with artistic goals or specific exam preparation (selecting syllabus pieces, guided scale practice, sight-reading and aural work according to ABRSM/Trinity criteria).

What to expect:

  • Technique: intermediate scales/arpeggios, tempo control.

  • Repertoire: complete mid-level pieces, emphasis on interpretation.

  • Competency goal: meet Grade 3–5 requirements and approach auditions with contrasting repertoire.

  • Free roaming: if 30 minutes is too little for you, go for 45 which is the sweet spot for teens and adults.

Beyond the player:

Complete the basic theory preparation that will allow you to understand, analyze and even start composing your own music. From standard music notation systems (Finale, Dorico, Sibelius, etc) to beat creation and elemental film scoring (DAWs) this level is designed to integrate basic but real world skills on theoretical side of music.
